The lightweight design of the wood core board makes it lighter than solid plastic boards. This makes it easy to handle and clean, as well as reducing the risk of injury if dropped. This doesn't mean it's light duty though - the Hasegawa T20 board is constructed for rigidity and does not easily warp or bend - even after long term use or high temperature washing. In fact, the board can be cleaned in the dishwasher when required.
